Google yourself

It is worth it.
77% of recruiters use search engines to find background data on candidates. Of that number, 35 percent eliminated a candidate because of what they found online.
Should you find any of your personal data on a Web site you don't control, I recommend asking the site owners to remove that information. Do you really want someone to reveal your name and home phone number to the world? And if you find such information on a cached Web page (a page that has been taken off a live site but still exists within Google), check this page for more details.
